Kitchen Craft is a gamified meal planning application developed by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our app. By using Kitchen Craft you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
When you use Kitchen Craft we collect the following information:
- Personal profile information you provide during onboarding: name, age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and dietary goals
- Meal planning data: meals you plan, recipes you create, ingredients, and cooking logs
- App usage data: XP earned, level, badges, streaks, quest completions, and leaderboard data
- Friend codes and leaderboard usernames if you use the social features
- Device push notification token if you grant notification permission
- Messages sent to the AI assistant and relevant app context provided to generate responses
How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to provide the app's functionality:
- To calculate personalized daily macro and calorie targets based on your body measurements and goals
- To provide meal suggestions matched to your nutritional targets
- To track your gamification progress including XP, levels, badges, and streaks
- To send push notifications for meal planning reminders, cooking log reminders, and streak protection alerts
- To power the AI assistant with personalized context about your goals and meal plan
- To display your stats on the leaderboard to friends you have connected with
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app's features.
Data Storage and Security
Your personal data is stored primarily on your own device using your browser's localStorage. This means your data stays on your device and is not uploaded to our servers except for the following:
- Push notification tokens and notification sync data are stored in Firebase Firestore
- Leaderboard data including username, XP, level, streak, and friend codes are stored in Firebase Firestore so friends can see your stats
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However no method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third Party Services
Kitchen Craft uses the following third party services which have their own privacy policies:
- Firebase by Google — used for push notifications and leaderboard data synchronization. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Gemini API — used to power the AI assistant. Messages you send to the AI assistant are processed by Google's servers. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Vercel — used for app hosting and deployment. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Push Notifications
If you grant permission Kitchen Craft sends push notifications for meal planning reminders, cooking log reminders, and streak protection alerts. You can disable individual notification types in the app Settings at any time. You can also disable all notifications in your device Settings.
AI Assistant
The Kitchen Craft AI assistant is powered by Google Gemini. When you use the AI assistant your messages and relevant app context including your macro targets, planned meals, and fitness goals are sent to Google's servers for processing. Please do not share sensitive personal information such as passwords, financial information, or medical details through the AI assistant.
GDPR Rights for European Users
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to access: you can request a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification: you can correct inaccurate data directly in the app Settings
- Right to erasure: you can delete all your data using Reset App Data in Settings
- Right to data portability: your data is stored locally on your device and is accessible to you at all times
- Right to object: you can disable notifications and AI features at any time in Settings

Children's Privacy
Kitchen Craft is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information please contact us at jonymencl07@gmail.com and we will delete it immediately.
Data Retention
Your data is stored on your device until you uninstall the app or use the Reset App Data feature in Settings. Firebase data including notification tokens and leaderboard stats is retained while you are an active user. You can request deletion of your Firebase data at any time by contacting us at jonymencl07@gmail.com.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
